Central Coast Mariners BounceBack Game Information To Fans
A-League Football team has adopted a new SMS-based, community information service, to keep fans constantly up to date with all team news.
The Central Coast Mariners have partnered with BounceBackSMS, a mobile phone powered electronic bulletin board service, to ensure fans are kept up-to-date with the team’s constantly changing news and game information. The service enables their growing army of football fans to access all the information they need to make sure they don’t miss a beat of Mariners action.
Supporter information anywhere, anytime
BouncebackSMS is a self service community information retrieval solution, accessible anywhere anytime by every mobile phone – the service acts as a concise electronic bulletin board and is an ideal way to make available simple information relevant to large numbers of people. Fans don’t need to join or register, they simply text the Mariner’s keyword CCMARINERS to 199BBSMS which immediately returns the latest news attached to that keyword - all for just 55c.
Central Coast Mariners Executive Chairman, Lyall Gorman said the service promises great things for the team’s growing fan base on the coast:
“The A-League is structured in such a way that our games are rarely played on the same day or even at the same time from week to week. We not only needed a way to communicate each weeks new information to fans, but also make sure they could access the information at a time of their choosing; BounceBackSMS allows us to do just that! Before, during and after the game
Leading up to each game the return SMS information includes, game time and venue, match day promotions, player updates, squad changes plus other news. And when games are in play the service is updated with live scores every 15 minutes, a feature that has proven extremely popular with fans following the progress of away games.
“We are attracting between 6,000 and 10,000 fans to each of our home games but if people can’t access the TV or radio coverage while our away games are being played, it has been pretty tough for them to keep up to date with our progress, but the live score updates via BounceBackSMS has gone a long way to solving this.”
BounceBackSMS’ Darren Besgrove said the service is ideally suited to sporting teams:
